Ministry Strategist
Weston loves the church and has served as a pastor for over 20 years in California and Kentucky. He has a heart for pastors and the knowledge to help churches succeed.
During his time in the local church, Weston led his church through a transformative capital campaign. This campaign taught his congregation how vibrant spirituality led to Christlike generosity and how Christlike generosity grew vibrant spirituality. This lesson was as much a blessing as the new building they built.
After serving 18 years at his last congregation, Weston joined a Christian NGO’s marketing and development department. He rallied support for a basic human right: clean drinking water. His focus was helping churches grow their global outreach and encouraging giving through church campaigns.
Weston joined the Horizons’ team to continue pursuing his call of helping churches grow a thriving culture of generosity and discipleship.
Weston holds degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he earned his Doctor of Ministry. He earned an Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising from the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
Weston lives in Bowling Green, KY, home of the Corvette and Western Kentucky University. He married his high school sweetheart; together, they have three children ranging from high school to college. He loves his local church and volunteers on its teaching team. He also serves as the summer pastor for a seasonal congregation in the Adirondacks
When he is not helping churches, Weston enjoys reading and being outdoors. He is a self-proclaimed grill artisan and collector of bad jokes.
