Jerry O’Sullivan

Senior Ministry Strategist

As an ordained Pastor at Shelter Rock Church in Long Island NY, Jerry has 24 years of ministerial experience in the local church. Shelter Rock Church is a growing multicampus church with four locations with an annual operating budget greater than $4 million. Jerry currently serves as a Campus Pastor shepherding and discipling a congregation of over one thousand people. He earned his undergraduate degree in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University and his Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary. He has helped facilitate several successful Capital Campaigns for growing evangelical churches. He is passionate about making disciples and teaching about the centrality of generosity in the discipleship process.

Jerry became passionate about generosity by watching God do a miracle in his own life and family. He grew up in an alcoholic dysfunctional unchurched home where his parents lost not one but two houses to foreclosure. Jerry became a follower of Jesus at a Billy Graham Crusade at 20 years old and started attending a local church. As part of his discipleship journey, he completed a biblical money management class hosted by his church at 22 years of age. In that class (like Financial Peace University) he learned biblical money management principles about giving, saving, and spending.

For the last 30 years, Jerry has watched Mt. 6:33 be lived out: “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.” Jerry’s life and family have been transformed by the gospel especially when it comes to money. Jerry’s family has been completely debt-free for the past six years, owning their home in NY. His two children will graduate debt-free from college including his son who will graduate from medical school to pursue a career as a surgeon.

Jerry has run 12 marathons, completed an Ironman triathlon, and currently enjoys Olympic weightlifting, fitness, and golf. He serves as a Chaplain in the NHL for the NY Islanders and loves to go to games to cheer on and support the team. For fun and adventure, Jerry and his wife Alexis love to travel.
